Getting Started - Step 1 - Enabling a Custom Product

In this tutorial we will walk thru how to enable custom products on your store. We will cover the basics of enabling custom products, using the customizer and how to configure pricing.

Enabling a Custom Product

When you first log in to the app, you are presented with a step-by-step checklist. Once you finish everything, the app will automatically add $10 to your account, giving you enough to get a free product.

To start, we will enable a custom product. We will go to the products page and view all the print-on-demand items available. For this demo, we will enable custom phone cases.

When you select a product, you will see the pricing. This is configured depending on what you want your profitability to be. The retail price is what it will show on Shopify as your regular price, and if you have a sale price enabled, it will show a strike through price on the retail and a discount. The cost for the item is the sale price minus the price that the app charges you for the product.

To enable the product, you can use the bulk feature. Once you hit enable, the product will be created on your Shopify store. This process typically only takes a few minutes.

Once the product is enabled, you can go to the store to see what it looks like. You will see the Custom iPhone case, and when you go into it, you will see the various different iPhone 12s.

When you hit customize, you will see the customization tool inside of your store. Your customer can add images, patterns, text, and icons. You have full control over all of these, and you can add your own fonts that your customers will be able to interact with and add to different products. We will go over this more in another tutorial.

Once the customer is done customizing the product, they can hit the add to cart button.

Conclusion

This tutorial gave you the basics of what the customizer tool looks like in your store and how your customers will interact with it. In future videos, we will talk more about how to create custom designs, 3D viewer, augmented reality, and more features available.
